Diocese of St Helena

The Diocese of St Helena consists of two islands (St Helena Island & Ascension Island) 1900km off the cost of Angola. The populations of St Helena Island and Ascension Islands are 3500 and 800 respectively. Unemployment is a serious problem – the biggest employer is the government. The largest portion of government funding comes from the UK Government’s Department for International Development (DFID).
